Cruising babe

Jordan has his little corner on my side of the bed. When he is up earlier than me, he would be standing beside my bed, trying to poke me awake.

Yu Jie's performance

Yu Jie has been singing MJ's Heal The World, with the actions. That is the finale for her school concert. She cannot really sing the whole song but she can sing the chorus pretty well.

I have no idea what exactly she is doing for the concert. When I asked her to show me the dance, she would chant and tapped her toes front and back, followed by a turn and a squat. It looked simple enough for a 3 year old. I did wonder if there were more to it.

I finally found out the answer last night. The dance was simple but my dear little babe was so busy looking at us in the audience that she was doing her own dance. Heee, everyone is doing their own dance on the stage. Before the music started, hub stood up . Yu Jie greeted him loudly from the stage! She was very thrilled that the family was there. I know she wanted to dance for us. All of us are proud of her!

The audience were charmed by them and despite their mistakes, applause was loud. The performers did well and had certainly entertained us!

I had a hard time removing the eye make-up!

All parents dashed forward during the finale. It took me a long while to spot Yujie.

Porridge!

Jordan has been nibbling on his puree for two months. His appetite has grown, from one large cube to three now! The best part is he loves his food! Correction - all kinds of food. He opens his mouth greedily whenever I tease him with a spoon.

I decided to cook porridge for him today. He gobbled almost 5 tablespoons in no time!
I wonder how heavy this little fella is now...

Updates
Jordan is getting very mobile in his walker. We have to strap the walker to the chair to restrict his movement else we have to stand up every few minutes to get him back to the safe region.
He crawls on his tummy very well and loves to explore the room. He would burst in giggles when we 'catch' him for moving too far.

Last week, Jordan is learning to get on his fours. I can see the determination on his face as he tries hard to balance himself on his knees and hands. Cute!

Sun and Sand @ East Coast Park

Nothing beats a lazy afternoon on the beach.

Vanity conquers fear!

Yu Jie has been talking about earrings, ear piercing for a few months. Out of fun, I used my fingernails to press her ear lobes to let her know that ear piercing can be painful! She changed her mind after that. She did not mention ear piercing anymore.

Recently, she started the topic again.

"Andrea pierced her ears LEH!" Yea, she punctuates her sentences with LEHs and LAHs.
"Mommy, your ear rings is very nice!"

I got the hint! I asked her if she wants to get her ears pierced, reminding her of the pain.

She NODDED and said YES!

Last evening, she finally had dream come true! The sale assistant was very helpful and assuring. I know Yu Jie's mind is made when the sales assistant confirmed with her that she wanted to have her ears pierced. Yu Jie even chose the colour of the stones on the studs - light amethyst. Lovely colour! By then there were 2 other mothers gathered in the little store. Their daughteres are getting their ears pierced too!

Yu Jie remained still on the seat while the sale assistant cleaned and marked the spot on her ears. I could tell that Yu Jie was rather nervous. I tried to distract her when the sales assistant was finally going to do it, together with her partner. Yes, both ears at the same time. One shot of pain and that is it! Yu Jie grimaced for a second when her ears were pierced. I was so worried that she would wail! Luckily, the sales assistant was fast to shove a mirror to me as I asked YJ to look at her earrings! Woa, I could see the literal change in her expression. She admired the ear rings and gave a wide grin! Phew! Thankfully, no tears but a proud happy girl!

My once little baby has grown up indeed!

7 mth old Jordan

Jordan is now past his 7th month. He has been very active, moving about on the mat. He crawls, wriggles, tosses and turns his body about. We get a little freaked out whenever he gets out of the mat, for fear that he would knock his head on the hard floor. Heee, we worry too much coz he will be cautious when he is on the floor. Somehow, he will not turn and rest his head on the floor. He will rest his head on his arms if he gets too tired. So smart, haha!

Jordan recognises us and looks at us excitedly. He stretches his arms out, anticipating us to carry him. When the gate opens, he will turn his body and wave wildy if he sees us. He is growing to be a lil charmer!

He coos and talks when he sees us. It seems that he has a lot of things to tell us. I cannot wait to hear what he has to say when he can verbalise his thoughts!

He loves being swung, never fails to amuse him!

Jordan's first dip

Jordan has his first dip in the pool. He did not appear very excited and only chuckled for the last few minutes. The waters definitely has some calming effects on him coz he slept soundly right after I changed him.

Yu Jie was so excited about the waters. We ventured to the deeper pool and she was apprehensive when her legs could not reach the floor! I can see her legs curled round the papa's as she struggled to stay afloat. Hah, time to learn swimming!

You are 3!

Yu Jie had a party in school and Yu Jie is dressed up for the occasion!

She knew that her birthday is near and she has been practising singing her birthday song almost daily since last week. Hee, she has also learnt to answer that she is turning 3.

My lil chub requested for her favourite Dora cake. I could not find any confectionary that has this character. Finally, I found the solution and quickly made the booking a month ago!
It was a simple celebration with the cuppies and a packet drink. I prepared balloon animals for the little ones too.

Thankfully, yesterday I had the luxury in the evening to twist, turn and tie the 27 balloons. It was my first try and the results was satisfactory!
